FYI I also had this issue today in a SurveyMonkey free text field. I tried Chrome Beta and Chrome Dev and it still happens on both at the time of writing.

Can I suggest that you all star the linked issue ( https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=806309 )? You will get spam every time anyone replies, however it potentially draws attention to the issue.
