The reason I am asking all these questions is because I love XF but if SEO/traffic stats after migration are not comparable to VB with VBSEO then we will have to go back to VB instead.

Thanks Shaun. Your search traffic seems to have taken a hit post migration to XF. :( That is the most important factor for us. Somehow IPB SEO is really fracked up. Nobody seems to know why.
