Should have no problems. I have imported from MyBB, and it is a pretty straight forward process. I do recommend doing a test import or two, to see if everything checks out. I too had addons on my MyBB site, and XF does not care about it!

I am running XF on PHP7 and it works great! I also recommend @Russ at PixelExit as they have nice designs and their XenBase framework is easy to work with!

I solved it by running the upgrade script.

MyBB is working on a VB5 importer, so you could double import with that software and then go to xenforo.

I run Ubuntu 16.04, but Xenforo could work well on older versions. I would recommend having the latest MySQL (MariaDB) as well as keeping your PHP up to date like 5.6 or 7.0.

Also, Xenforo has Sphinx search as well from Digitalpoint if you like that, though Elastic search is good as well.

I would go shared hosting though, while a VPS is good if you like to really get into setting up your site, but for most low traffic forums Hostgator is fine.
