Really? I used to use hostgator and my bro still use them after 5 years. He has a simple site though. I heard Namecheap was decent compared to Godaddy or Hostgator. What do you use?
Is there a user threshold they are good for, for shared hosting, before you need to move? It's kind of pointless to pay for the best when you have 0 members or just a few hundred.
I worked on my friend's website years back. It seems there is a lawyer owned website company who sells many extraneous services and generic websites to first time law graduates. They sell new guys services such as blogging etc., and charge them an arm and a leg, supposedly to help them rank...
Is the frontend also XF? Frontend looks good. I probably get rid of that test page. It makes it look like you are not ready to open but pushed to open anyway. The forums look like it can use a lot more categories. Again, it may be best no to go online if your site is still in the developing...
Thank you for letting me know. Haha ok you guys got me. I didn’t know you can tag in XF. But still having the guy be an active XF member is a nice coincidence. I don’t think my post was negative. I merely laughed and then tried to help the guy by giving him a site that would help him figure out...
It seems people thought I was laughing at the post and not the coincidence. It made my day because the owner of the site is also a XF member and answered his question directly. That’s like me asking a question on Apple forum and Tim Cook responds to me which is pretty cool.
I bet you start punching people for bumping into you in subways too thinking they were all doing their best to nip you
yes his site. How often do you ask about someone’s site and the owner is the first to reply??? That’s ridiculous. :D
Hello. I was just researching forums to see if they were pass their prime. Then I started reading about forum owners complain that Google killed their traffic with their new algorithms so it made me think hard of putting time and effort into building something that might be minus then a plus...
It was humorous because he asked about the website, and the owner happen to be in this forum as well. The coincidence was uncanny. I am sorry you didn’t see the humor that way. It was not meant to be mean spirited.
Successful forums are hard to find. All the ones I know are old established ones. My friend has one and it’s enough to support a family of 4 in upper middle class Sydney AU, along with cruises and vacations in Bahamas and the States every year.
