Here you can see the usage statistics for forum software... Honestly, although I think WoltLab is good software, I prefer using Xeonforo, which is still the most used forum... Bbpess (which I use for a fairly large project) isn't a forum on par with xeonforo and invisioncommunity...

Forget about free forums, they're stuck 20 years ago...

The alternative is the inVisioncommunity which costs €499 plus €199 per year. practically madness…

If your community is growing and you think it can write in a forum, today xenfpro is the only stable forum and at a still acceptable price

I don't think a WordPress site has thousands and thousands of posts, so I guess you could create the posts by hand wouldn't that be easier?

I did it too in one of my forums but it changed almost nothing.

You can migrate PHPbb to xenforo with the official import but not wpforo so you have to rely on a professional if you don't know how to do it yourself.

Releasing simple updates isn't complicated if vb can do it too...

If updates (even small ones) aren't released, the admins consistently don't renew licenses, and XF earns less... So I don't understand why they're stuck...

I agree with you, but as of today, Xforo is still a stable product and worth using because it's still the best forum out there, especially considering the quality/price ratio. I'm very disappointed they don't release updates, but I'm not worried about my two forms.

DigitalPoint has many customizations, so it's not easy to update and for this reason it is an exception and should not be taken as an example...

In my opinion, anyone using xf 1.5 in 2025 doesn't deserve to have a forum...

When you make certain statements, you have to provide numbers. Can you give me statistics on people who have abandoned a site because they couldn't find a black theme? I bet you don't have them because they don't exist! There isn't a single sane person who, if they can't find a black theme...

I don't think there are any users who won't visit a site without a dark theme. I've always used a dark theme on both my phone and PC, but if a site appears white, I've never had the problem of leaving the site.
