I have tried it, but there seems to be a bug preventing you from creating new language specific nodes (I already reported it last Saturday). Hopefully the problems will be resolved soon. This is a mod that really should be part of the XenForo core feature set.

Are you sure your server's time is synced properly? Try installing NTP you're on a VPS or dedicated server.

It would be nice to have a shadowban option for users and IP addresses, similar to what Reddit has. I also think it would be nice to have an option to allow shadowbanned users to view and post on threads/posts of other shadowbanned users.

You don't have to force it on staff members. The suggestion is for the option to force it. You also do not need a data plan to use any of the RFC 6238 (Think Google Authenticator) applications or even need a phone (see WinAuth for example).
