There's an inbound email processor that can handle creating / updating tickets via incoming emaiIs to a configured address. There isn't built-in functionality for notes. While it's not the same thing you're asking, there is support for this Member Notes add-on.

It does this already assuming it can infer the URL from the alert / push notification content. It falls back to the alerts page if it's not possible to figure out the URL. The scenario you described links to the thread for me on my site. Have you customised your alert templates perhaps?

The one JamesBrown posted about was dealt with in a ticket- the fix for that will be in the next release. I'll check to see if the ones on my support site are still relevant. Thanks!
