well.. there are actually... as well as the fact that many countries require the possibility for the user to view ALL info that is available about him/her, and to edit/change/remove the info as he/she feels necessary... it's a part of the privacy law in many countries...
no, I won't.. since all my vB licenses have since expired, and I didn't feel like buying new ones, so I converted to a different forum system all together... for now... but... I most likely discuss it with the powers at hand, and try to convert to XenForo if convert scripts are available for...
funny thing is... that the number of positive comments on this board is even more then the negative ones on the vB 4.0 boards (and from what I've seen that is hard :p )
to make sure you didn't see that as bashing, I'll say that I didn't comment on vb 4.0 myself :p but just 'objectively'...
I'm pro auto account deletion as well as their PM inbox, however, I'm not pro their posts being deleted... these posts have been made according to forum rules, and at sign-up they agreed to basic forum rules which IMO should include that posts made, will belong to the forum from that point on...
My personal choice goes to AVG free... for home use that is.. for a company a paid solution makes more sense
I agree woth staying away from McAfee, Norton, but not necessarily because of the bloat/heavy load (which they are) but because their 'famousness' has them being a target for virus writers
@Kier: somehow I think Disjunto meant the 'absolute dates' in a different context... more Xenforo general wise... :) but these absolute dates are still not set in stone afaik :)

I agree that this is a feature that can be added, I don't think it will create any extra load since first posts are almost static from the moment the thread is made so they can be cached, the only moment extra 'load' would occur imo is when the first post gets edited, but then again this is...
Honestly, a user posting like that should be banned :p
However I don't see a reason to prevent decent posts to be limited (not really sure what kind of posts would need that depth of course :p )
that being said, I wouldn't mind it being limited either...
