i do have root access! i checked my.cnf and there is no innodb_lock_wait_timeout. i did find that restarting the mysql server allowed me to save the template, but the errors started again. then i reduced the number of styles down to a total of 4 (from a total of 8) and that did stop the problem...

there are 7 child styles of the default.

75% of the times i try to save a template i get this infernal error: (when clicking 'save all changes') (ironically it saves the template half the time despite this error) (when clicking 'save and exit') obviously i need to make some changes within the server environment, but im not sure...

it sure would be nice if, as the admin, the 'check spammer ip' was always available to me. as it is i will have to open up all members to potential spam cleaning by all moderators just to have this functionality. this situation defies logic.
