I think can be useful to have an edit history for custom fields too.
In this way, it will be possible to recover the full edits of the first post of a thread.
in a classified node if the seller "ninja" change info in custom fields, it will be possible to check this "bad behavior".
I noticed that if I read a content and then I click on the alert bell that content is marked as read. I think that for what I would like to archive I "only" need to disable the automatically "mark as read" behavior that the click on the bell does. Am I right?

How about batch add users that are already using pushing over to a new user group “legacy pushover” giving them pushover permission and disable it to “registered” user group?
In this way you can then activate pushover to new paying users and maintain the old ones active.
Like alerts (and the other “not content alerts) will be set as read after some seconds after the alert dropdown menu was open. And maybe at a specific threashold grouped in single alerts. Example: “Mark and other 4 users liked/reacted to your post etc... etc...”
