Go with Xenforo and get as far away from VB as you can. I made the switch a few months ago to Xenforo, and should have done it a LOT sooner.

I think you may be right about the unusual load on the internet being at least part of the problem. It's just so random. Like, I can hit "new posts" 3 times in a row and it loads fine, and then on the 4th takes a lot longer to load with the same traffic on the board.

My message board was running really slowly about every 3rd time it was refreshed. I have contacted my host and they don't see any issues on their end. I started the "rebuild caches" and now my board has crashed. Any ideas? I can't figure it out.

Would it be a firewall if it is just happening occasionally?

My members and I are getting an error (doesn't happen very often) when we try to post. You can see the error below. Like I said it doesn't happen all that often but it is getting annoying. Anyone have any ideas?

I just used their services. They migrated our site from VB to XF, and I have to say, Ken is amazing. From start to finish it was seamless. The migration went off without a hitch and our new board is amazing. I would recommend him to anyone. Just amazing work.

Duh, my apologies. Our board is new to XF, so we are still working through everything since we had been with VB for about 15 years. Everything is new.

I searched and haven't been able to find anything, but is there a way to add a cancel button to the text/post box? Essentially, a button next to the "Post reply" and "Preview" buttons so a member can cancel a post they have started. As it is now, even if you delete the text/content it still...
