XF 1.5 All threads started by a member in specific forum

Yes, I have the same question. There used to be (in older XF versions) this option in [Search Threads and Posts] : [x] Search threads started by this member only But it seems to be gone?

XF 2.0 vBulletin forum 3.8.11 and vBulletin blog 2.0.6 : can broken software be imported?

Okay, thanks for confirming Slavik. I don't know if the broken combi of vB Forum en vB Blog could have caused database errors (if that's even possible) in the meantime. But at the moment -with the Blog disabled- at least the Forum seems to work fine.

    vB4 Migration

Hello Chris, I am not up-to-date with the latest XF and XFMG releases, but does your advise still stand? In Q4 2018 I am planning to switch over from vBulletin 3.8.11 to Xenforo 2.x and I would like to know what I need to prepare for this. Do I understand it correctly that if I want to retain...

XF 2.0 vBulletin forum 3.8.11 and vBulletin blog 2.0.6 : can broken software be imported?

In the beginning of this year vBulletin Support upgraded (I as admin was not available) our vB 3.8.8 forum to vB 3.8.11, since that was the version that supported PHP 5.6, which our hostingprovider switched to. vB 3.8.8. did not support PHP 5.6 and our forum became inaccessible. After this...

Send an alert and/or an email on a member's birthday

I am a bit surprised/puzzled that this valuable social feature has not been offered yet after so many years. It is not a totally pointless feature at all ;)... I can't remember how other forum packages used to do this, but Facebook for example offers it like this: A birthday symbol next to...

Bookmark posts for future reference - Bookmark Center

In addition to my not so lean and mean (it's still a challenge ) reply above , here's a short one: YouTube (as another example of a social media platform) has a function called 'Watch later'. Simply click a button and you can quickly add any video to your Watch Later playlist. That...

Is Xenforo the solution I need?

@GameDevJon, By what you wrote I understand you are not coming from a situation where you need to migrate your existing forum platform to XenForo, but you are starting a fresh new platform. In that case, you could also give it a go by simply using the XF forum for your blogging needs. An...

Is Xenforo the solution I need?

Hello Jonathan, Concerning your questions about a CMS, Blog and portfolio: @whynot already answered question 1 and 2. In addition to these answers, here's some more in-depth info that was posted before on these subjects: 1: CMS This tidbit (but was posted 7 years ago in 2010 upon initial...

Better functionality to report and moderate illegal hate speech

Yes, when it comes to major players in the social media field, like Facebook, that have a worldwide impact, I can understand it. I have not read the examples yet, but I was thinking about the position of a webmaster of a local forum, as you were mentioning the word webmasters. I can't grasp that...

Implemented If Blogs will come later: A tool to migrate existing vBlog entries into a designated forum?

Kier mentioned this: The recent announcement for XF 2.0.1. mentions this as the first point in the list: And I can mention that XF 2.0.1. now includes importer functionality that makes it possible to import vBulletin 3.8 Blog content into XenForo 2. A Blog article will be imported as the...

Send Alerts When Editing a Message and Mentioning (Tagging) or Quoting a User

Concerning the feature suggestion: I wondered a couple of times (since using the software over here) if adding an username tag (or quote) by editing a post would generate an alert. I did not give it a second thought, because I more or less assumed it would work the same as when posting a post...

Send Alerts When Editing a Message and Mentioning (Tagging) or Quoting a User

Occasionally the developers share their thoughts in discussions about feature suggestions, more often not. Obviously they are not obliged to do so. Brilliant :).
