XF 2.3 After import from vBulletin to Xenforo all posting timestamps seemed to be one hour off

And that's why I (still) love forums, compared to social media platforms like Facebook. You can't find anything back easily (or at all) in endless comment-threads on Facebook for example. Here on www.xenforo.com it took me a few secs to find that helpful post by @Jake Bunch.

XF 2.3 After import from vBulletin to Xenforo all posting timestamps seemed to be one hour off

I (novice Webmaster) was also able to get a list from all these 276 users who apparently have their time zone set to UTC. Doing this: And then export this list to an CSV file to get it into Excel.

XF 2.3 After import from vBulletin to Xenforo all posting timestamps seemed to be one hour off

Thanks to this antique post from @Jake Bunch, I was able to run these queries through PhpMyAdmin, with these values: - <option value="Europe/London">(UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London</option> <option value="Europe/Amsterdam">(UTC+01:00) Central European Time</option> So: --- Which...

XF 2.3 After import from vBulletin to Xenforo all posting timestamps seemed to be one hour off

After my vBulletin 3.8.11 board was imported to a (test) XenForo board, I noticed that all timestamps on every posting seems to be one hour off. At least, when I looked at those postings whilst logged in under my administrator account. Investigating it further, it seemed that inside my own...

    Permission accumulation

(I couldn't find another thread mentioning a question of "do the node permissions override the global user group permissions and user permissions", so please do excuse me reacting to an older thread, since I have the same question). I am a total newbie to the Admin Control Panel and the...

    User Permissions Report?

@Jeremy P Great, I was looking for a document like these, where common questions concerning XF’s permissions system would be answered and further explained. As a total newbie to the XF permission system, resources like these are really helpful 👍. I noticed that both in the text in the main...

    User Permissions Report?

Thanks for explaining this, @chillibear 👍. I am totally new to the XF permissions system (just upgrading from vBulletin to XenForo) and posts like these are really helpful. Talking about user permissions, there is something I don’t yet understand. If you have a moment, maybe you can look at my...

XF 2.3 vBulletin board imported in XenForo: what areas are important to test?

Hi Kirby, I will follow your earlier advice: But before I do that, I need to get my newbie head around some things. I have highlighted some points of your earlier post, inside the following quote: Aha, thanks to your explanations @Kirby, it is starting to make a bit more sense to me. So...

    XF 2.1 Private nodes

I am a total new user to the ACP of Xenforo and coming from vBulletin, I find the Xenforo permission system considerably more complex to understand quickly, compared to vBulletin. Thanks @Martok for pointing to that resource, that already helps. Hopefully someone can publish an updated...

Small layout ‘issue’ in ACP in ‘Analyze permissions’ section

Just a tiny layout thing. Using the XenForo ACP now properly for the very first time (I am in the process of migrating my vBulletin board to Xenforo), I am looking to the ACP through the eyes of a newbie. At the Analyze permissions section I was at first glance slightly confused, since I...

XF 2.3 vBulletin board imported in XenForo: what areas are important to test?

(Tiny thing) I noticed that the forum descriptions were not visibly displayed, when viewing the forum on a desktop PC. This made the whole forum overview appear quite bare bones. The forum descriptions did however appear inside a tooltip when you hover over them, just like overhere at...

Option for Admin to temporarily view forum as a different user

@Ludachris I am in the process of testing a vBulletin import inside a Xenforo testboard. After that import quite a few permissions are set wrong actually by the import, for example the administrator and moderators can’t see the Staf Zone anymore. As you said indeed, a function to “see” the...

XF 2.2 Another VB import - transition question

That helps a lot indeed, I am now testdriving my imported test board. However, it would still help if there was a consolidated document available where all these “ins and outs” of the Permissions system were explained.

XF 2.3 vBulletin board imported in XenForo: what areas are important to test?

Banned Usergroup permissions have changed after import to Xenforo See the screenshots. I noticed that quite a few permissions inside the Banned Usergroup were suddenly set to YES, after the import to the XenForo testboard. In my live vBulletin board, all these settings are set to NO. I might...

XF 2.3 vBulletin board imported in XenForo: what areas are important to test?

Thank you @Kirby for your extensive explanation(y). I am gonna testdrive everything you explained on my testboard, concerning the Super Administrator permission and if I feel the need I will report back my findings here (so people can learn from it). I believe it would be helpful for people...
