XF 1.2 Forums with limited permissions

As I said in my earlier post.. I also tried with a dummy user because the test and analyze permissions tools were in disgreement.. and the dummy user follows the 'test permissions' result. No posting. So.. like I said.. analyze permissions is not matching what the forum actually allows for...

XF 1.2 Forums with limited permissions

According to this... http://xenforo.com/community/resources/understanding-permissions.360/ the last sentance is exactly what I'm trying to do. The user is a member of two groups.. Group one has a revoke set on the node, but Group two has an Allow. I don't think the forum is actually...

XF 1.2 Forums with limited permissions

I'm not using Never - I'm using revoke - which according to the manual can be overriden.

Implementing permissions across multiple user groups

If all users are members of registered... and you grant registered posting permissions in general as that's the default behavior in most forums. But if you have a forum you only want some users to be able to post in.. I would expect on the Node to be able to set revoke for 'registered'...

XF 1.2 Forums with limited permissions

Maybe it's a bug? The user in question is part of 'registered users' which is set to revoke on this node. The user is also part of a second user group which has 'allow' set for the node. According to the manual, 'revoke' can be overridden. And my expectation is the 'allow' in the second user...

XF 1.2 Forums with limited permissions

I know this is a common topic - but I can not figure out what the real intention of the design is here. My user groups are basically like this.. - unregistered - registered - special promotion groups - some restricted access groups (penalty box, limited access, etc) All users are members of...

XF 1.2 How to report spam to SFS?

It's what we've largely have done in the past... but the lure of a system that banned by use rather than geography is far more attractive.

XF 1.2 How to report spam to SFS?

Maybe xenforo could team up with a list of 'obvious spammers who have not posted' service  I don't need to clog my site with thousands of registrations from Bangladesh, India, China, and headless hosting services for my community about my 3k home neighborhood.

XF 1.2 How to report spam to SFS?

The registrations are quite clear of the intent. I have no problem flagging them prior

XF 1.2 How to report spam to SFS?

But spam cleaner does not reject the registration - but bans them and hence they hang around flooding ban lists and other views. I really don't need to keep track of hundreds of past China spammers in my db. Id like to just turn them away at the door, feed the data to the lists and move on.

XF 1.2 How to report spam to SFS?

I don't see spam cleaner in the user edit page in admin pages? And wouldn't spam cleaner only look at posts in the forums? I'm talking about when a user is registers and pending approval... they obviously do not have any posts at this point. It's plainly obvious when you have spam...

XF 1.2 How to report spam to SFS?

So I've added the api key for StopForumSpam in options... and I moderate new user registrations. But it's not clear to me in the workflows how I am supposed to be flagging users as spammers? When I reject user registrations.. is there any way to flag them as spammers for the various features...

XF 1.2 header image height in responsive design

hrm... maybe this could be used to force specific heights at certain wide/narrow/etc ? or maybe just switching the image would be nice (which is what the responsive add-on did). I do want a logo on the mobile site

XF 1.2 header image height in responsive design

I have a relatively wide image in my header logo. It requires a height of 155px to be displayed correctly above the menus when viewing in a full browser, and the header image logo and height of header logo style properties are defined as such. in v1.2 with responsive enabled, the logo is...

XF 1.1 Suggestion/best practice for default 'registered' permissions?

Brogan's outline doesn't address nodes at all... so how you say this is the 'easiest way' I have no idea. He doesn't address the topic of per node variations at all. I don't think you even understand the problem being put forward. And what way is 'easier' depends on which you have more of...
