    @Tracy Perry Interestingly, while in the SES sandbox - although I could test an outbound email (tools -> test outbound email) and it was successful / received. no other notifications would flow. Switching back to my original SMTP provider (no-ip.com), eventually delivered those missing...

    Yeah, I was denied also. Do not check transactional or mention anything about forum notifications. Honestly, why provide a commercial or paid-for service if you aren't going to allow commercial enterprises to take part? I know - their sandbox, their rules.

    @Brogan That did indeed work - thank you I don't like that when he clicks on the upgrade link - it shows that he is already subscribed to the 'Idiot' group ;) I guess I'll rename that.

    XF 2.2 Paypal Subscription Doesn't Place User in Group

    Never mind, I didn't realize that another Paypal notification would be sent to XF upon payment received. Took over an hour. It all looks good.
