Thanks for the simple example. I was trying make available a custom pulldown menu throughout the templates and was struggling with the syntax.

I got this to insert the db by setting the Value Match Requirements: to None instead of using the Callback. I got it to display in my thread by setting the Value Display as: Value Display HTML: Edit thead defaults to 1970 so I still need to troubleshoot this. This field is still useful...

Random works great. Thanks for the add-on. Nodes doesn't work for me though. It's not passing the variable value to header.php. I wrote a debug log and it's passing: node={$quickNavSelected}
