@JulianD great addon, but any way you could make it work on specific forums? I only want it on a few certain forums, not all of them. But as of now, I guess you can only set it for user permissions and not in the forum permissions. Would appreciate it!

Well he said it can be done, not that it already is. And he's right, you could do all you want with the addon system or styling system. But some stuff you need like a wiki inside the thread is something not too many really want or need, so it's probably something you would create yourself or...

I saw another addon using this, and it seemed simple enough and automatically updated. But now that I look in the Xenforo_Model_user file, it calls _applyUserGroupChanges function which seems to be doing basically what you mentioned with the DataWriter method but it's doing a lot of other things...

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I found a different way to do this, but I noticed one issue, it won't set them to that group again if you remove them from it manually. I believe you have to do removeUserGroupChange with the same key. I'm not sure if this is a better way to do it or not, anyone...
