A friend's server was just hacked because of this exploit. The server got infected with two files/services called .IptabLes and .IptabLex, that were being used to DDOS a remote server.

I chose xenForo because I loved its look and feel (and I saw no future for vB). It's been more than half a year since I converted my forum and I couldn't be happier; although for a support type forum I'd probably choose something else (other than the traditional forum software.)

Before I converted my forum to xenForo I made a test conversion and played with it for a while before I made up my mind, I advise you to do the same. It's been 7 months since the move and I've been 100% pleased with xenForo.

Is it possible not to parse links automatically after making a new thread or post? vBulletin has the 'Automatically parse links in text' option when creating a thread, it was possible to edit the newthread.php file so the box was automatically checked. Is there an option in xenForo to do this...

I've always made regular off-site backups regardless of my HDD setup. I'm just paranoid about it, I only trust having the backups on my own HDDs and DVDs. ;) But the question still stands, what's better for xF performance, more powerful CPU with conventional HDD or less powerful CPU with SSD...
