the Gold of vB4 still feels like the alpha to me...

(btw: I am totally enjoying using this new product... WHAT a difference compared to the horrible vB4 userinterface. I have never understood how Internet Brands can come up which such a low quality userinterface. The 'look and feel' of software nowadays is sooo very important. I feel exactly like this (if you don't mind me posting this, Floris: just let me know):

I love it so far! It's so simple and looks good! The integration with Facebook and using some of the Facebook features is excellent. There is no doubt I will be buying 3 licenses for this to cover my 3 sites - goodbye vB when this is released! It's good to be using software from people I trust again!

This is a heck of a lot better than vBulletin 4. It's like heaven and earth.


Granted some functionality is missing, but I can totally live with some missing functionality right now as xenForo ACTUALLY WORKS. It does what it does right, and it does it well!

What I like :

• clean interface (no post count under avatar and so on - good !)
• fast interface
• the yellow pagination color scheme is good
• quick reply is nice with its "inline design" where you see your avatar next to it

Floris, I don't want to be reminded of my thoughts or impressions of vB4 GOLD, there are not enough expletives to go around. The manual should have been entitled " How to take the best forum software available and destroy it."

There are only two people (and their teams) who truly know the forum software market - Matt Mecham and Kier Darby. And now Kier is back.

This whole product, in early alpha stage, works better, looks better and flows better - one thousand times better - than vB4 does.

Really, really impressed. Stunning. Awesome. I'm almost lost for words.

Well done guys, I can now finally seem an upgrade path for my main forum
(I've tried vb4 on one of my quieter forums and to be honest it hasn't turned out to be what I hoped for, where as XF give me hope!)

I couldn't agree more. The moment the guys allow me to make a purchase I will be there. No questions. This is one slick system and I would happily part with my money today even knowing that I won't get a product or see how the backend works for a while yet.

What is there honestly not to like??
Ok so the design resembles Facebook a little, but this isn't going to be the only style for it.
Features: well so far so good, more and more will be added (hopefully)
