Well, they have been saying for over half a year that 3.8.7 was in the works.3.8.6 was scheduled to be the last release.

Well, with the issue of Internet Explorer 9 causing viewing issues on many forums, and it looking like no "proper fix" will come for vBulletin 3.8 now it's EOL. You could be right!
They are not going to, it's a simple as that. What you see now is what you're going to get.It would be quite underhanded for IB to not fix 3.8 for IE9.

To be fair, you'll see this with every software company. They can't support old and outdated software forever.Hate it when they do that, they don't care for the fact there clients don't wanna upgrade, but now don't have a choice now if they wanna carry on getting support. **** move imo.
might have to pick up a vB4 because we cant abandon our vB albums... this sucks to the 10th degree.
Yeah he said there would be an importer as well...might be worth the wait to see how that matures. There's a mod for that in XenForo

I was thinking the same thing....No sure what the panic is all about, security patches will still be available for quite some time.
I think this should sum up my views on the issue:

I'm still using 3.8, but only until I finish up developing the WP version of my site. Because of how my site is designed now, it's better to change over everything at once rather than in parts.
I would recommend everyone using vBulletin 3 to upgrade to XenForo
But for those who maybe a little hesitant...
There is another group which will be offering open source updates, mods, and development on vBulletin 3
Mind you, they are not making releases... But will continue improving upon what has already been released.

Sadly though, they will not be able to fix the Internet Explorer 9 bug without modifying source code to vBulletin 3, so you are overall better off upgrading to XenForo
