That's not strictly true. This is from the forum description: "This is still part of a business forum, so be aware of what you're discussing."

And just because a thread is in the Off Topic forum, it doesn't mean people can make posts which are off topic to that particular thread.
The Off Topic relates to the fact that the threads herein don't fit in to any other forum, not the actual thread direction.

I suspect that the thread itself has become useless to be honest. There's been very little discussion of mjp's original topic and I see no sign of it returning from the place at which its ended up.
