Guys - the resource is removed from here due to the fact that we don't have enough support personnel to monitor multiple forums system official page to support directly right here. We do have our own support forum and a support ticket system in place that you can usually get an response within 1 business day.

We still monitor this thread once in a while - we deleted this resource and not knowing that the thread will still be around - and it causes confusion that we are not responding to support request.

Again we provide 24 hours turn around support for paid customer, or in most case, 72 hours for all forums that are currently published in Tapatalk.

I did a lot of work to make my sites excellent for mobile, and then I dropped Tapatalk. After many months went by with activity levels dropping slowly over time, I decided to give Tapatalk another try. Gradually site activity then recovered. At the same time, I found that Tapatalk's customer service had greatly improved.

If you look at my earlier posts in this thread, I was outspoken about my dissatisfaction with Tapatalk. I do think they have improved quite a bit now. I also very much appreciate their more affordable and much easier BYO process, and my members love the BYO apps.

Oh Amin we just noticed this. Thanks for the kind words and always happy to see once dissatisfied customer to return and be happy again. We are rolling out the BYO 5.2 for iOS with increase ads placement options - be sure to check out the Beta currently at tapatalk.com console!

I wasn't talking about the splash page. I was referring to the tapatalk popup on the top of the screen. Anyway I am not planning to install tapatalk again. Thank you.

The popup was long gone sine we switched from the Paid app to Free app. FYI.

it works well. sometimes it has minor bugs, but if they will fix it in a few weeks. quality/usability of app and service is improved last 2 years in my opinion.

Pretty annoyed by the amount of unsolicited e-mail (spam) I've been getting from Tapatalk. Please cut it out. Your unsubscribe link in the e-mail is also not a one-click affair. It should be.

Tapatalk is feeding off of webmasters like us and they treat us like dirt. I have no trust in the way crap-a-talk conducts their business and I have removed it from every forum I run + got other friends to remove it as well.

I have been a critic of Tapatalk in the past. More recently I felt that Tapatalk had made substantial improvements in meeting the needs of site owners and reported that in this thread.

However, I just became aware that Tapatalk has been copying and republishing content from my websites (with their own ads) on Tapatalk.com.

The fact that it was announced with little fanfare and then implemented as an opt-out option is very poor behavior on the part of Tapatalk IMO, and that is without even considering the incorrect information in the announcement:

Also not true. I found many instances where it outranked the results from our site. For example:




Tapatalk has no control over how Google ranks results, nor can they speak with any authority over what Google will consider duplicate content.

Again, not true. I was on a paid tier (Premium), and I was opted in by default.

Nothing...nothing...should be opt-out. This is the same reason I quit f***book many years ago. Throw new features at the users, then hide the opt-out settings somewhere that they are difficult to find or at the very least, never inform them of it. The bad part about stealing content for re-use (like crap-a-talk is doing) is that anyone who is in the US has no legal means to sue them for copyright infringement--they located offshore.

I am so glad I dumped them on all of our sites over three years ago.

I really thought they had gotten their act together. They admitted they could have handled some things better in the past. They implemented a support ticket system and got back to me in a timely fashion on a number of concerns.

But this is really a major issue. Copying content from our sites and serving it on theirs? If ever there was a time to ask for an opt-in, this would be the time. And I would most certainly not have opted in.

It look like all their indexed URLs previously pointing to their pages copying my content are now forwarding directly to my content. I don't know if they are doing 301 redirects or not, and I am left wondering what kind of damage they have done to my sites from an SEO standpoint.

Their website indicates they're a Delaware company and gives a CA mailing address. They're really not located in US anymore? I'd submitted a support ticket demanding they remove the content but not sure how far that is going to go. I removed my Tapatalk in May so if this started in July then they were already caching everything they were transferring through Tapatalk.

That is disturbing. You didn't even have the plugin installed and they were copying your content on an ongoing basis?

It's the only conclusion I can see. I removed the plugin in May, 2 months before this was announced. I also unpublished my site then as well. So the only possibility is that they were collecting this data way before this announcement.

Your link is for Tapatalk, but when I click it, it immediately redirects here: https://www.talkemount.com/threads/how-to-tame-a-dragon.15259/ Is that not the original content?

Okay, I'll grant you that. But in this example, the Tapatalk search result, it's not an example of a fully copied thread, either. This is all it goes to: https://www.tapatalk.com/topic/1385...7914-long-exposure-greek-island-by-nickcyprus That's like a sentence and one word before linking back to you.

I clicked through a few of those other links you posted, too. In a lot of cases I got a weird "not available in your country" message. But everything else redirected to the original content. So...what is the issue exactly? I didn't have time to search through all of those links, but the one's I did had no instances of copied content, other than a sentence and a linkback, or a redirect to the original page. What am I missing?
