XF 2.1 Remove formatting button doesn't remove links

It does remove links. If you wrap a link around prose and then remove the formatting, it will strip the link BB code. It doesn't prevent the auto-link behavior from occurring when a URL is included directly in the text though. To disable that, you actually have to use formatting (the
[plain] tag).

hmmmm I can't get this remove formatting to remove the links from this bit even here, try yourself in the editor

- Select all text and click eraser (Remove formatting)
- Highlight link (sub-menu icons appear)
- Click unlink icon:
- Same with second link ...
- Job done

But that is my point that it doesn't remove the links
There’s a known issue in the editor which will be resolved in the future, which is most likely happening here:
