Points are useless without anything to spend it on.

Now everytime you enter the shop or casino, there is no major risk because you can easily earn a ton of points for your purchases and gambling through Sportsbook.

Yes, there is a risk. They can lost that bet. Hence the "gambling" part...

Simple, raise the cost. Not hard either.
Now you understand me!!!! and nope! Once you raise the costs it will be too high for noobs. Not all noobs will use sportsbook or even a casino addon (which hasn't been released for xenforo). So that means the only way members can earn points is through posting and contributing to the website AND through Sportsbook. By raising the price, they would have to resort to using Sportsbook just to earn points to change their features. That's not fair for the other methods of gaining points, hence why a 1:1 outcome ratio for betting events is needed. Maybe not for your site or sites, but definitely for mine because my members rarely used Sportsbook. A 1:1 ratio would be ideal for a site like mine which is small.

If a bookie creates a bet that rewards members a ridiculous amount of points

THAT is your problem! Its the reckless improper use and I've mentioned this to you multiple times now. Find members that create REALISTIC odds for events and you won't have the issue of people making a ton of cash on a high probability wager. You don't find Vegas odds like 3 to1 on a FAVORITE to win. FAVORITES are going to be LOW payouts like 1 to 3. Your problem is that you have bookies creating HIGH Payouts for a High probability that the outcome is going to pay. That doesn't happen in real life.

Your problem is with your Bookies and the way you use the addon.

If you are that concerned with people and odds posted, either only give certain members Bookie access, or an Admin will have to check all outcomes before posted.

You run a forum, you should know you are not going to please every single member with every single decision.

You could also get StockTrader, and have your members invest.

Currently, I see Usergroup Styling options [ bold, italic or underline username] at our site, costing $50,000 each. Members still start out with 5k. They still earn from posting. If they want the 50k that bad, they can either post and reply more, or use Sportsbook. Once they upgrade, they have access to StockTrader as well. Do other things to get currency entered. Run a Signature of the Week type thing, Post of the Week, Rant of the Week, Pic of the Week, Member of the Month... offer prizes of how many points you want. There are tons of ways to use all of this, as well as using Sportsbook without someone gaining too much.

I know but If I could let my paid usergroup set bets with 1:1 outcome ratios only, then I wouldn't have to set bookies. This is especially important because they don't know the intricacies of betting. Choosing one of them as a Bookie is pointless, even after teaching them, cause they still won't care. I tried that, didn't work. When they do actually care and make a bet, it would be easier to just let them do their own thing instead of having to rely on someone else (the bookie) and by having a set ratio (it doesn't have to be 1:1).

Again, its your users and how you are using it that is the problem. You keep saying things like "they don't know the intricacies of betting" "They don't care" ... If they don't know or don't care, then why the heck are you giving them the ability to create events with stupid ridiculous odds on an outcome! You are setting yourself up for failure by the way you are just letting anyone create events.

If there was a permission to set the odds available for a usergroup or just one odd (1:1) then they won't create ridiculous odds.

Absolutely 100% sure. I would pay double the price of Sportsbook right now just to get that extra Bookie permission.

In the end, as said before, it is you and your users. There are ways to enforce them to not make idiotic odds. Warning, revoking the ability to create events, etc. You will have to decide what is more important. The allowing of EVERYONE to post an event and you check each event for proper odds, or only allow those capable of following the "RULES" the ability.

It would only be available to the vip usergroup. Having a hardcoded ratio for that usergroup results in less moderation and no warnings needed at all.

Does anyone know how long until we get a shop addon?

Mythocal quit MyShop and Iceshop does not come with any preconfigured options at all.

Have you create a thread asking if any developers are working on a shop add-on in resource discussions or in Add-on requests? Saves on your question being buried which it will once more replies start rolling in.

This is true.

Damn.

Aight.

Well... I don't like making request without having money available in case they demand payment. Am already tied up with this Likes-Reply-Share addon request.

Yeah I hear what your saying. I think if you put in in resource discussions you would atleast get a discussion going, and possibly a developer stepping forward but more importantly since this will likely be a paid add-on many people will fund such a project so 1 person won't be footing all the expenses. Your choice though where you want to create the thread.

Hey @Bob I know it's 4 years later and all but has anyone else asked you about these two questions before or was it just me? The questions being:

A.) Extra Sportsbook Bookie permission to set only one hardcoded odds (1:1)

B.) Bookies can only bet with only one odds available.
