XF 2.2 Custom thread field - Specific option selected by default

I have a custom thread field that is a drop down selection field. Is there any way to make one of the options selected by default, but changeable by the user?

Look carefully at its licensing... it's for the 2.2 ONLY version apparently... and 2.3 hopefully is not too far down the line, so you may be purchasing it twice.
Honestly.. this is something that needs to be default... if you are going to have selectable custom fields, the thought of assigning a default other than none should have been considered. But I've pretty much gave up on submitting suggestions since there are some out there over a decade old that have not been acted upon in any noticeable way by developers.
