First and foremost, if you like the suggestion that a person has made, like the post. If you have further tweaks to the suggestion, please post them but still like the post.
The solution will not prevent polls from being created via post requests, only hide the option to create a poll. My suggestion is also something that should have been included long ago in vanilla XenForo, so it surprises me that it has not been added yet, soon 3 years after suggesting it.This can be done with template modifications
Disable Polls per Forum/Node
Well that's disappointing, I thought that finally my suggestion was getting added...There is no separate poll permission in 1.4.
What's wrong with having discussion types in the particular forum AND addional permissions to control who's able to create and view them?I posted about this elsewhere (in the poll improvements HYS), but a permission for this is something that goes against our idea of "discussion types" (something that will likely be expanded over time), which is that the types are generally something that are set on a per forum basis. You're defining the types of discussion that you want in a particular forum. Generalizing, it doesn't really make sense to prevent someone from posting a "question" type in a help forum or a "bug" type in a bug report forum.
I agree.Such system would be much more powerful with create and view permissions.
