We'll also be looking at providing Shoutcast streams. Would that require the same, or a totally different component?

EQnoble or anyone who might be familiar with his bbcode for gdocs...it is not working for me. If you happen to know anything I might be doing wrong please advise.

My Google Doc is public for anyone with a link. My URL format matches the format in the bbcode exactly but it still is not working.

This doc has nothing confidential in it so it doesn't matter who sees it.

That is a Google error message.

You need to set the permissions on the document to public.

This is my first time working with Google Docs, but to the best of my knowledge it is set as public.

Try setting it to "Public on the web".

I tried that too, same result.

I started to try that before but stopped. The reason is the URL structure changes when you make it public on the web by removing the &authkey=COrQs9MH. The example given with the bb code includes that suffix.



EDIT: I tried the example doc which is used in the BB Code example and it works, but that is not a spreadsheet.

give me till later tonight....I am so recovering right now Schmitz, the shoutcast thing has way more involved than the mms streaming thing...I will be talking to someone today about that as a matter of fact.

@oracle I will need to write a specific code for the spreadsheets from google as I think that is the one thing in docs that gets embedded differently is the spreadsheet one

most gdocs come from docs.google , one comes from spreadsheets.google.... wanna guess which one

I need to rehydrate and eat something before I even attempt to think if you guys can wait another day at most.

Not a problem...sorry I took so long to get back to this thread here...I have been at the casino wasting gas (winning nicely but nevertheless wasting fuel on the drive) to relieve some stress and to wind down from my local scene.

Back to jamming keys...this is what I have come up (for the mms)..lemme know if it works on your end.
(I still have to research into what I can do with shoutcast since it is not as straight forward but I will get back as soon as I can muster up something worthy with this.)

PS. I do have some ideas about and around streaming content so if you want to pm or voice me on skype let me know.

Awesome. Will give things a test tonight. As for the shoutcast, I have not set any streams up yet, but probably can easily do so. I'll just have to collaborate with the client who wants to use it, and then you'd probably be able to have a 24/7 shoutcast stream at your disposal as well.

So here we go, this should work for you, you can manipulate the style how you see fit but this will get you going.

Here is the table code I use on my site.

It consists of table, transparent row, white row, grey row, header cell, left-aligned cell, centre-aligned cell and right-aligned cell.

Thanks for this. One question though, how will the search engines see the data inside a table? Will it be indexed? Will it be indexed along with the BB code? A large table post will have lot of information but at least 5 times more junk in terms of the BB codes.

Only the parsed content is displayed in the snippet.
The cached content appears fine.

To the best of my knowledge Google and other engines strip all BB Code and index the rest. Having data contained within [td] [/td] brackets should be no different then having text within brackets for bold, italics, etc.

The page is in Czech but you can clearly see the audio play buttons, you push one and music plays.

The Voice Internet Radio (http://voiceradio.us) uses ShoutCAST to broadcast.

What Jeremy said... Try stream.voiceradio.us; I think that's the link you need. If not, there are four listen links (i.e. .pls) in the header of the site.
