Auto refreshing sideblocks / widgets

I think it would be useful if certain sideblocks had a option to auto refresh via Ajax. At a minimum I would like to see the New posts sideblock have this ability.

Useful if you sleep in front of your computer
Unless going back and forth on pages containing widgets does not refresh widgets?

Why would I want to refresh the page to update the widgets, that is what the Ajax is for.

Because usually we walk from page to page on a forum and that sooner or later the widget is refreshed.
As I said jokingly, if we need the widgets refresh automatically it's because we are sleeping...

Not necessarily, some people have multiple monitors with different things going on on each one. So in monitor one I have my website open, monitor two I am doing some sort of other surfing or work. Now I would like my latest post sideblock to auto refresh so I can see at a quick glance if any new posts have been posted.

So maybe automatic pages refreshing of your browser would be a good option? FF and Chrome can do this, i don't know for Safari.
But also, refreshing automatically widgets with Ajax will be good too. That's true.

Was anything like this implemented? I have tried whats new addons but everyone has developed something that refreshes the page rather than just the widget.
