Implemented  Analytics Integration

Hello,

I am thinking along the lines of some sort of Analytics integration into the system, or even, a custom analytics solution? Might be useful, but of course, this might be better off as a modification.

Regards,
Shamil

I think this is a much better system, and you own your site stats vs google owning them, adding support for xenforo for this would make much more sense.
http://piwik.org/ its open source, free, and does real time tracking, and you can run it on every site you own from one location. We use it with our networks
now.

xenPiwik ;)
Anybody happen to know of an ASP.net equivalent? Would be handy for the 'day job' sites.

I'm probably going to make a Mint pepper (http://haveamint.com) to track usage of different things on the forum.

I tend to use that jointly with Analytics, so I can track a few things (Internal searches, download stats).

What's the point? Google does a stunning job - go use their system.

There are a few things that Google Analytics doesn't track/show well, though we use it a LOT and love it.

It would be useful to have an internal system to track things like New Threads/Posts/members on a day to day basis (and if you're going to have a 7 day report, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HAVE IT USE 7 DIFFERENT COLORS *ahem*). I'd also be really REALLY interested in a system that tracks search terms, both successful and failed. That would be invaluable information for developing new content and making the site more relevant for the membership.

Hrm... Is Mint going to be able to plug into the internal XF searches as opposed to just seeing the terms coming in from the referring search engines? I think I've heard about Mint, but haven't really investigated it in detail.

We can't integrate that into XenForo. It uses the viral GPL license, meaning that in order to integrate it, XenForo would de-facto become GPL licensed too.

Does that mean, we cannot use that in our forums through template modification as well? If we can do that, then what about providing a generic box for adding custom or third party tracking code?

You can include it yourself, but we cannot do it for you and distribute it due to the restrictions of the GPL.
