XF 2.1 A way to force guests to register before being able to complete a specific action

I've got a popular thread which is being shared in social media which is giving away some python scripts I built via a download link (zippyshare).

Is there any way to force guests who click on the download link to be prompted to register before they can download? I'm not sure if this kind of functionality would be outside of what's possible without some serious customization

With permissions ?
If you block downloading by guests they will be invite to register when they click on attachment.

Or maybe you want to block downloading only in a certain thread ?

I don't think he's around anymore. There's several other add-ons that do the same thing for cheap. Search the Xenforo 2 add-ons area.
