[8wayRun.Com] XenPorta (Portal)

I am confused on the slider and news ... So i just make it have slide.jpg and it will put picture up there and since that is in the slider it will not show with other news ?
 
Okay i am getting the hang of it now but curious some of those blocks i only want on the portal and not on the forum. Is there a conditional statement i can ad to show on portal only and rest will show up on forum ?

I did check forum in options and then i went and made layout and gave type forum-## with no id and it still is not showing up in forum.
 
If you are building custom blocks for your sidebar, how would you apply those to pages like Members or pages that are not using the Xenporta layouts? Is it possible to create a custom layout for members and pull the members content into a block and add it to the content area on the members layout? Are there any limitations to blocks themselves?
 
Set as Index Controller problem.

I am using xampp as my development environment on my local PC and have a copy of my live site in there. I have installed this mod and have:
XF installed in http://localhost/site1/*.*
XF Options -> Basic Board Information -> Board URL -> http://localhost/site1
XF Options -> Basic Board Information -> Use Full Friendly URLs -> ticked
XenPorta Options -> Set as Index Controller -> ticked

When I click "Home" on the menu I get the XenPorta page which shows the address of http://localhost/site1/
When I click "Forums" on the menu I get the address of http://localhost/site1/forum/ which just shows Index of /site1/forum and a Parent Directory link

However, if I uncheck the XF Options -> Basic Board Information -> Use Full Friendly URLs (i.e. not use friendly urls) it works

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
 
Still not quite understanding how you select certain forums or categories as articles? And how you promote threads to articles either. I have not found one selection/button/link looking through the entire site about articles? Can anybody show me some screenshots possibly?
 
For the "RecentAccordion" and "RecentSlider" Blocks, is there a way we can feed images to it from 2 seperate forums, instead of the forums selected with the "RecentNews" block?

Would be a really neat feature...
 
I have reinstalled the portal twice now.. works fine EXCEPT when I try to go to the forum itself via the forum tab I always get this :
"
An error occurred while reading CGI reply (no response received)"
what is causing this? Driving me nuts!

when I turn the forum off it seems to be fine as well. Does not make any sense?
 
Has Jaxel deserted his mods? I paid him money for each one and all my questions of his mods go unanswered

So does anyone know how to do this? or should I just make a new forum, just for the 2nd block and change the slide filename to look for?

I don't think that he's deserted them at all. It's more of a mindset and well... pretty much if you read through the thread here (I know, it's way too long), but anyway... it's a common thing to see the users trying to help and him answering what he feels like only.

Sad to say, but due to lack of support from the developer after a donation we have decided to use other addons/platforms.
