XF Legal Donation Fund - David vs. Goliath

Nice. Somehow, I get the feeling the vBulletin community might actually be helping out a lot with this as well when they hear about it. Poor IB, going up against both XenForo, both the XF and the VB community, and the communities of the admins posting on either XF or vB... this might get interesting.

I think we can help Xenforo in this 2 ways:
1) buying one or more license (depends of your needs :D)
2) Promoting Xenforo to your friends, to all unsatisfied vb admins, in your website/blog, in the signature of your accounts, retweet xenforo announcements and share on Facebook links to Xenforo. More promotion, more licenses selled.

The vB community of old, maybe. The current one ... I'd be pretty surprised.
Perhaps. If you followed the topic (70 pages already) about IB's lawsuit on vB.com, you'll notice that pretty much everyone is against IB, some saying they might go XenForo instead, and so on. I don't think they'd mind to spread the support website to be honest.

I meant, I don't think they're going to be raising funds to help IB battle XenForo. I could totally believe they'd help XenForo. Hell, some of them might help XenForo just out of spite, because there are a lot of ticked off 4.0 users out there.

Oh lol, that's why I said IB had to go against both communities... I think both the vB and the XF community will help XenForo actually. :)

Kickarse Peggy.... really great news. I will be putting this onto my sites, which exceed 150k uniques monthly.... only small, but certainly will be advertising this cause, even on my sites I don't run advertising upon... this will be the exception to the rule.

:) That is very nice of you.

Cheers to Anthony.

There is nothing wrong with a legal defense fund, as long as management promises to donate any unspent money to a cause that the folks who donated agree on when the fund is dissolved and this case settled.

Maybe Greenpeace or the Red Cross can be agreed on right now or in the future.

It's good to know that if needed there will be an opportunity to support. I will without doubt donate if and when the time comes!

Hopefully XF doesn't accept these donations and squashes the idea before anyone takes it any further.

I know my view on this is going to be the minority, but legal defense is the cost of doing business. If you can't afford to run your business, then you shouldn't have one.

It's totally amateurish and unprofessional to have to rely on a community to float the bill.

I disagree with your view David, strongly disagree, if the members here want to donate and support the developers that is their choice.

This lawsuit was never put in the financial projections for this start up company, these guys have families to support, lawyers can cost up to $500.00 per hour on Federal cases here in the USA.

We put the resources of a global law firm to work for you.
Our founding shareholder board included leading international lawyers from the U.S. and abroad.
