Frequency of updates?

How frequently can one expect to see new features being introduced in xenforo. I note a growing list of desired items. Are these features made available as completed or bundled into release candidates? As one who desperately want to migrate from vb but can not do so before things like full text message notifications are available, I am curious to know how frequently to check for enhancements?

Sweet!!! looking forward to this.. The ability to make these adjustments on a per usergroup basis would make it Awesome!!

Wow, that looks very helpful, thanks Kier. If anything I imagine this will draw more people back than just sending them a link. At least it would have that effect on me.

Can you imagine how much you can spam bigboards now and how well you can get branding out there1

Sort forum on post replies, the one with the most .. just submit your image or [size=7] viagra!

I think I rather provoke users to come back to the site without the content in the mail, or at least the plain-text version.

It's just me though, I prefer plain text mails over html anyway.

Anyway, the reason I mention this example is because mails are basically instant, mailed to large group at once .. and abuse is simply nature of the net .. and while you can get spammers moderated, mods on the site to spot them, or users reporting them .. the mail is out the door, the post deleted or not .. unlike a spam post that gets processed before others get to see it. keeping the site clean.

I take it we will be able to choose what address it is sent from?
I'd love to have a From: address so the person gets an auto reply back telling them that their reply went nowhere.
In vB I wanted an admin email address but didn't want to use it thread announcements since people tended to reply back.

Floris does make a good point, not sure how that issue can be avoided though. I would say have the emails delay by say fifteen or so minutes, and any that are reported by users as spam will be skipped until the first non-reported reply is found and emailed out but that somewhat defeats the point perhaps.

The other suggestion I would have is that the only emails that contain the actual post content are ones from those that you 'follow' or those which actually quote you. That would in the case of the first idea mean only replies by those you have effectively 'friended' are sent or with the latter idea even if a spammer did quote someone, the spam only goes to one person, or a handful if they've multi-quoted rather than tens or hundreds.

Or, ironically the simplest solution, only do it for people who have more than x posts (like the spam cleaner thing I believe). Of course after posting all this I'm sure Kier or Mike will point out they have already done something like that, or something far better

On my vb site I have a number of spam filters, ip filters, etc. configured. Most important, I set all new users to moderated until after they post their first message. My incidents of spam are very low. A bit more work for myself but I find that vey few spammers are going to first post a legitimate message and then a few weeks later start with the junk.
