XF 1.5 XML-Sitemap zipped / `how to make it un-zipped ?

Hello,

I have activated the "Sitemap Options" in ACP.


1)
when I visit my URL http://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml then I do get the following Error-message:

The requested page could not be found.


2)
when I visit my URL http://www.domain.com/sitemap.php then I do get a popup-window which asks me to download the zipped file "sitemap-1.xml.gz"



Question:
How can I make it so, that my sitemap will shop up un-compressed (so that it shows the sitemap-code without compression) and that my sitemap shows up at both URLs http://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml and http://www.domain.com/sitemap.php

Exactly the same as here at Xenforo.com (I just do not have the "community"-path in my URL):

https://xenforo.com/community/sitemap.xml

https://xenforo.com/community/sitemap.php

Why do you nee to have it show at .xml and be unzipped?

Search engines are fully capable of accessing it via .php.

If you want to view it you can download it and unzip it on your computer.

my SEO-friends tell me that it is better to have the sitemap not being zipped.


Looking here at xenforo.com, the sitemap is also not zipped (and both file-extensions ".xml" and ".php" are showing up immediately):

If the sitemap is showing as accepted in your Google webmaster tools with an index count then don't change it; it is working fine regardless of what your "SEO-friends" are saying.

If your sitemap is not working (meaning that nothing shows as indexed) then read this thread entirely and you'll find some updated files for XF 1.5.x to use XML files files like you want.
