I edit the template to remove a lot of elements that hinder the chat experience (meaning breadcrumbs, logo of the board, that kinda thing). I have created a style just for TaigaChat. Wanted to know how to apply it just to the full chat.
 
Sorry I'm new to xF and have just purchased this great product, However!

I'm trying to install the widget and there is no add widget selection when I select the apperance tab on xF 1.2?

I'm trying to get the shoutbox to sit at the top of my forum like I had on vB so any advice on what would be appreciate, I assume I need to add this widget somehow?

Fresh installation instructions:


If upgrading from TaigaChat free, scroll down for correct instructions!


If you use [bd] Widget Framework:

  1. Upload contents of upload folder to forum root.
  2. Install new addon using addon-TaigaChat.xml.
  3. Set the permissions for all relevant user groups.
  4. Import widget_framework_taigachat_pro.xml from Appearance > Import Widgets - do NOT delete your existing widgets when prompted.
    Then, go to Appearance > List Widgets and enable one of the two available Shoutbox types (Sidebar or Full width), and additionally the ‘Users in Chat’ widget if you desire.
  5. Observe the settings in Home > Options > TaigaChat Pro, especially the top setting (‘Speed mode’) if shoutbox security matters.
  6. If you use XenPorta and wish to include TaigaChat in your portal, upload contents of xenporta/upload folder to your forum root, then in Home > Blocks > Install Block, installTaigaChat.xml, TaigaChatAlt.xml and TaigaChatOnline.xml.

If you DO NOT use [bd] Widget Framework:

  1. Upload contents of upload folder to forum root.
  2. Install new addon using addon-TaigaChat.xml.
  3. Set the permissions for all relevant user groups.
  4. For sidebar: in the forum_list template, before or after (personal preference) <xen:include template="sidebar_online_users" /> add <xen:hook name="dark_taigachat" />

I'm sorry thanks for that :) is there a way of having the shoutbox above the forum in a small horizontal box?

Would the widget help with this?

Sorry I'm completely new to XF so it's all a learning process at the moment! :)
 
Yep, I agree :) You can then change the forum height in Options :) You can set it in pixels to make it bigger or smaller :)
 
Sorry to bother you again.

But there are missing icons for smilies and when you select the colour picker, have they been accidental left out of the package or did they use built in xf 1.1 images which have now changes/removed?

eg:

styles/default/xenforo/editor/smilie.png
styles/default/xenforo/editor/colorpicker.jpg

are missing.
 
I am not sure what you mean, everything fine here. I am using XenForo 1.2 and the latest TaigaChat Pro. Maybe the add-on developer can help you.
 
Perhaps you did not remove old images that may longer be used with XF 1.2 as I do not have the above images in my xF 1.2 full package or the addon?

Would it be possible in future updates to have a responsive design as per xF 1.2?

I feel the only thing that would be required would be to have the chat input box on a different line to the icons as right now the input box is tiny and difficult to press on a phone.

There is a responsive design currently, this is a bug which will be fixed for the next update
 
is it possible to make the chat looks like this

easier to read and better for the eyes and provided modern looks

it is better than having the names at different direction
some name : text
some : text text
some other name : text text
