XF 2.1 Public Navigation Extra Attributes

I was playing around with this setting in AdminCP >> Setup >> Public navigation >> Extra attributes but I'm not sure how this is supposed to work.

For example, I tried this, assuming they were CSS or link attributes:



but it doesn't seem to do anything.

What is this and how is it used?

It's for specifying regular HTML attributes on the link itself. You could set the name to style and the value to font-weight: bold; for example (though I'd generally recommend styling via extra.less or similar instead).
