Just like subscribing to a forum or discussion, there should be the ability to subscribe to a user. Mainly for administrators and moderators. If you have a feeling a particular user is going to cause problems, it would be nice to get notifications when that user posts.

Just as replying can cause an automatic watching of the thread, I think voting on a poll should have an option to create automatic watching. If someone votes (but doesn't reply in the thread) they obviously still have an interest in the topic, so it may help with some of the discussion/debate...
