I know what you mean and I keep forgetting to check my bookmarks. So far, I avoid opening messages until I know I'll have time to answer, but I sometimes click something by accident and then I have to remember to go back to it later.

Those are alerts, though, not actual posts from the forums you don't have alerts for.

Because in the specific forum I work with, I read everything, and what is unread needs replying. If it is marked as read but I can't respond immediately, I won't find it again and will forget to reply. No amount of bookmarking will help me remember to go there. I normally click what's new, new...
