Aha! Set everything to NO and save. Positive user group permissions will then grant them all the permissions they should have. Fixed.

Is there an issue with displaying medals for certain user groups? I cannot find any permissions for medals apart from awarding, but many users and unregistered users cannot see medals in the user info box.

Yes we used to be able to include a link in emails too. It was useful in sending out regular emails to people who hadn't confirmed their account. Although now I'm wondering if that was in vBulletin :D
