I'll fess up and say that I don't recall.
I was trying to check yesterday, but couldn't get in to the admincp. I checked around in a few other places, but didn't find it easily and moved on to continue trying to sort things out.
Spidey senses feels like it's PHP. The host put a new php.ini file in place this morning.
They have a MultiPHP Manager feature and the php.ini file has this at the top.

Good question. The current setting is using PHP 7.4 (ea-php74).
I don't think we have a reference for pre-upgrade to the control panel.
The only options they offer is PHP 7.3 (ea-php73)
Ooooohh! This is xf 1.5.... runs to check reqs
Oh, I've tried.
I think that's what got us this message: ""Table './DBNAME/xf_search_index' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed""
I even created the db again, copied the data over and pointed the config at the new db. No change.
I JUST went through some things and saw this:
"Table './DBNAME/xf_search_index' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed"
I've truncated the table and it hasn't helped.
