If you have money to spare this could be worth it simply as a networking tool. Making connections can be the best investment. So if you are in the area, might be worth it in my opinion.

Nice job. The the banner only says"Cmo" and there is no immediately recognizable "About" section above the fold. I think you should have a clearly distinguishable mission statement or about page, and still leave one in the footer like you have.

Yeah, we're using php for the main site too. I'll google creating an istance of the framework and checking out thexeforo_vistior. Thanks for the heads up! A lot of people use xenforo, but I've been finding it hard to get my google-fu to turn up useful developer info.
