XF + Wordpress: best install on separare sites (same VPS) or no prob on same site?

1. XF + Wordpress: best install on separare sites (same VPS) or no prob on same site? These are two serious programs so I am wondering if it might be better for performance to put them on separate websites?

2. Can the "wordpress bridge" work between separate sites? This is not that important, but just like to know.

3. Can you recommend some kind of CMS to display "latest posts" + "latest blogs" from XF + Wordpress on the same home page? (Including if they are on separate sites?) Please note, I have not yet used Wordpress either--so I don't know much about it--maybe Wordpress itself has a sort of CMS that can do this...?

For the integration to work they must be on the same server (VPS in your case)

they can be on different domains or subdomains ...
So you could have forum.domain.com or domain.com/forum ... it's up to you, but once you plan your site stick with that to avoid SEO problems

subdomains are considered separate domains
