The demo only lasts for three days, so it probably isn't worth the time to set it up like this.

They would probably do something like this if they followed what vBulletin does offering a cloud hosted service. I hope they don't

As it's automatically created, it's far easier to create a randomly generated domain than trying to determine if it's already in use. Remember, you aren't the only one testing things out.
