Why is it in $ and not £?

Firstly well done to everyone who has been working on this project as they have come out, which appears to be great product.

I am in the process of purchasing a license but what I dont understand is that if the company is UK based then why the currency default is to $ and there is no option of changing it to british pounds. Or is there a way of changing it?
