Is it possible to use a USB Thumb Drive for MySQL, PHP, and Apache? So that you could use said thumb drive as the 'server' so to speak for web development? Furthermore, would it be possible to install Wordpress on said thumb drive?

    Anybody ever try this?

You can do it but it will be quite slow, depending on the speed of your drive.
    Nothing unusable however.

I actually have a good quality thumb drive that is for windows, that has a closed setup running apache upon start, with php/mysql and a default db etc configured with mysql.php i can include .. so when i am with someone and we have to do quick prototyping, i can just get started and go home and continue from there. It's fast enough. But to be honest, I haven't used that in a year or so now.
