Fixed Uploaded animated gifs flicker

    I'm running the latest version of ImageMagick (6.7.7) and PECL extension (3.1.0RC2). Animated images that are uploaded through XenForo flicker. It's almost like a tearing effect.

    You can see what I'm talking about here (look near the top):


    I tried converting an image directly with IM and the tearing artifacts aren't present, so it's either XF or the PECL extension I suppose.

    Under further review I've found this only happens with GIFs that are upscaled.

    Right, I've managed to track this down. "Deconstruct" is a useful optimization, but it fails on certain GIF types. I've now changed to use a general optimization approach for resized GIFs that seems to work without issue.
