I'm using a high-end gaming laptop (an Alienware 15 R2 - i7-4710HQ - 16GB RAM - GTX 980M 4GB and a 4K screen) which is not that old or slow, though. Perhaps it's a combination of the blur and a huge 4K screen and some browser plugin or something...I'll try turning off blur and playing around with settings and see what helps.

Definitely doesn't seem like a hardware issue then!

Try disabling the blur effect and fixed background, and let me know if it improves :) Otherwise I'll try and look further into it for you.

Minor bug fixes and improvements

  • Removed the guest message on the Password Reset and Forgot Password pages since it was not necessary
  • There were a few English strings in the German and Russian translations. These have now been translated
  • Certain third party widget headers no longer display two icons
  • The ‘ellipsis’ icon has been replaced on certain widget headers with more appropriate icons

Would you be so kind as to tell me where is that option to disable the blur effect? I've already looked for it everywhere, but I had no luck.

Hello,

Unfortunately the backdrop-filter in Chrome is extremely buggy. Adding this to your extra.less file should help.
Less: 
.focus-block-container(){
    backdrop-filter: none;
}

For a while now, I've had issues reading longer posts here on my phone. After a certain point, the site's background covers the text and it's unreadable. Here's a screenshot of the issue: The problem still exists if the desktop site is requested, though you can see a bit further down the page...

Yep, the solution above will fix your problem. I'll remove the blur effect in the next update since Chrome has a very buggy implementation of it. Safari works correctly, so I'll keep it for that browser.

Xenforo 2.1.10 compatibility and bug fixes

This update includes:
  • Compatibility for Xenforo 2.1.10
  • Fixed a bug where the mobile footer may not function correctly if the theme editor is disabled.
  • Converted “Theme editor preferences” from cookies to localStorage, removing a HTTP request as well as a couple of cookie functions.
  • Some button colours were assigned using the wrong Style Properties. This has now been fixed.
  • Translated the “Mobile navigation bar” text in the editor for all languages.
