Hi, I just made a forum for sharing the best gaming deals I find online. Previously I had a gaming blog (just news not deals) made in Wordpress but I decided to change the focus more on deals. Also the previous website was in Spanish I decided to made this one in English, I also started to translate and merge some old posts from the blog so the new forum doesn't seem to empty.

I would like to know your feedback on this, what do you think and if you like it of course you can join, I have implemented the Facebook login and also the Twitter login with an add-on. Let me know what you think. So far working with Xenforo has been great and fast.

I see you're using @Russ's Frag skin, somehow, the skin seems to have better grey hues than the stock installation. Nice work on getting the feel to feel a bit different!

The only flaw that I see, is the "share" buttons - On the right column where "Follow the game dealer" - remove the Twitter Follow button, and move that over to the top like I did here: http://www.codforums.com and turn on the G+ button in that box.

Not at all! I want also to people to post games they want to sell there. If you look the background it's different, but it's an awful coincidence I will try to change it so it will look different. Thanks for noticing it up. If you have any more suggestions please tell me.

I took the background from here: http://subtlepatterns.com and I did the logo myself. Nevertheless I will change the back so it looks different

I wouldn't change things just because someone said "you stole this design from this site." Your site is fine. It's not stealing anything.

Yeah, it's got this familiar feel - but that's not stealing!

The more familiar your site is, the easier it is to attract your users - mostly because they know it's a "deals site" rather than anything else. The whole point here is to give off the impression that your site is a deals site.

Last I checked there are no patents on color and if they didn't make that background and it's freely available on the net then it's not stealing. Now if you went and scraped all their threads and put them on your site then that might be stealing. But then again, the deals are all public knowledge as well.

Nevertheless, you don't really want people to have to ask that question so it's best to be as original as possible.

I used the built in notices system from XenForo:



I can't say it's increased the sign ups, but I'm sure it would be something that would encourage them to sign up.
