    I want to make a Forum-post, but I did receive this Error-message:

The submitted message is too long to be processed. Please shorten it.

How do I change the settings in order to make a longer post ?

    Appreciate your help!

I have a text which is not that long, only 500 words or so.

Seems to be a formatting issue as I copied the text from a Word-file.

Now that I have put the text into a text-editor and then pasting it into my Forum-Editor, it is working fine.

This XF Editor is crap.

If you use Chrome just right click and click "Paste as Plain Text".

Also, if you click this icon in the top right corner of the editor: plain_texteditor.PNG

That will switch you to a plain text editor. This also enables you to paste without formatting.

now I know why some of my members were complaining that my website does not work.
They were pasting content (text) from a Word-File or from their own Homepage into the Editor at my XF-forum and then they received this Error-message.

This Error-message actually is wrong, as this Error is not related to "message is too long", but actually related to the text-formatting ONLY....

Have you got an example of a Word file which causes this error?

I would actually suggest that it is still the message is too long, but you have to bear in mind that formatting tags such as [color][font][size] etc all count towards the character limit.

What we need to do is prove that the message count is below the allowed limit before we start looking at other causes.
