XF 1.1 The private node option doesn't work?

I have made a category node, and set it so that only Administrators and Premium users can access it. The issue is, even though the private node option is unchecked, other can't see it in the node list.

When I allow people to view the node in the permissions, then don't get a permission error when they click it (and they should).

Any ideas?

It does work.

Set it as private and allow access to the administrative and moderating user groups.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Make it so that anyone can see the node (and it's children) in the node list on the homepage, but if anyone that isn't an admin or premium user clicks on it they get a no permission message.
