Waindigo submitted a new resource:

Pay for Content by Waindigo - Adds the ability to pay for resources and give paying users additional permissions.

This add-on adds the ability to charge users for individual resources.

Resources can be set up as "paid content" in the Admin Control Panel.

A user can pay for content by clicking on the "Purchase" link next to a Resource in the list of resources. Once a user has paid for content, they will be given extra permissions just for that resource, as...

Is this strictly real world monies or can third party currencies, such as ******* Credits, [bd] bank or trophies be used? If not, is there any plans to make alternative payment options available? Thanks in advance for your response.

Thats what I need is a person joins free and can get other boards and perks
by joining the next level of membership.

You can just use the account upgrades system for that. Then set node permissions and regular permissions accordingly.

This add-on is more related to directly paying for content that is available. (eg Resources)

• Added option to limit number of purchases for each paid content. Setting to zero will stop the item from being purchasable. Remaining number of purchases is shown on new 'Buy now' button (see above).

It can be set up to work like that, yes.

Making payment just allows you to add extra permissions, so it really just depends on how you set up your permissions.

I dont get it..

So if they click purchase.. they pay with paypal then it redirects them to the resource that they purchased then they can download it?

If you set it up like that, yes. It won't do that out of the box. It requires you to set up some options/permissions.

New features:

• Added ability to have multiple paid content profiles per content item, with different user groups for each. These can also be prioritised for members with multiple user groups. This allows you to have different pricing structures for different user groups. If you enter a title for your paid content item, the alternative payment options will be shown with their titles.

• Fixes bug that resource cache rebuild required in order to activate new paid resources. Although this is no longer required, it is recommended to do a resource cache rebuild after installing this update.
